Our staff's mission is to create a nurturing, safe and inclusive environment where children can explore, learn and grow. We are dedicated to fostering curiosity, creativity, and emotional development, while encouraging each child to build confidence, independence and a love of learning. Through play-based activities and individualized attention, we strive to support every child's unique potential and lay a strong foundation for lifelong success.

Ms. Sheila, Director

Ms. Sheila is the dedicated Director of St. Pete Prep where she oversees all aspects of the preschool's operations, including staff management, compliance with licensing regulations, curriculum development, and ensuring a nurturing environment that makes our preschool a place of joy, learning, and growth. With a deep passion for early childhood education, Ms. Sheila brings over 32 years of experience in the field and plays a vital role in maintaining the high standards of care and education that the preschool is known for.  Ms. Sheila is proud to lead and provide an environment where children, families, and staff are respected, valued, and inspired to grow.

Ms. Bri, Assistant Director

Ms. Bri is the Assistant Director at St. Pete Prep where she works closely with the Director and staff to ensure the smooth operation of the preschool and support the academic, social, and emotional development of every child. With 13 years of experience in early childhood education, Ms. Bri sees the the power of play-based education to help children build essential life skills such as problem-solving, empathy, and teamwork. Ms. Bri is also an advocate for open and ongoing communication with parents, believing that when families are involved in their child’s education, children are more likely to be motivated, confident, and successful.

Dr. Holly, Executive Director

With over 20 years of experience in the field of education, Dr. Holly has seen firsthand how essential these early years are in shaping a child's development. Thus, she is deeply invested in creating an environment where children not only grow academically but also socially, emotionally, and creatively. Earning a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of South Florida, Dr. Holly believes that a great preschool education lays the foundation for a lifelong love of learning. Working directly with Ms. Sheila at the helm, they are both committed to making St. Pete Prep the #1 choice in preschool/daycare in the Tampabay area.

Teachers

Ms. Elena, VPK 

Ms. Elena has been a teacher at St. Pete Prep for 35 years! She is a compassionate and attentive teacher known for her remarkable ability to connect with each child on a personal level. Ms. Elena takes the time to understand the unique strengths, interests and needs of every student, creating an environment where children feel seen, valued and understood.

Ms. Mary, VPK 

Ms. Mary has been a teacher at St. Pete Prep for 25 years and has a degree in Early Childhood Education! Ms. Mary is a caring teacher who thrives on witnessing the “aha” moments of discovery in the classroom. With a passion for guiding young minds, she takes great joy in watching children connect the dots and experience those moments of clarity and understanding.

Ms. Jane, VPK 

Ms. Jane has been teaching for 36 years! She genuinely loves being around children and believes that every day in the classroom is an opportunity to learn from them. With a natural curiosity and deep respect for each child's perspective, Ms. Jane embraces the unique ways that children think, express themselves and approach the world.

Ms. Candice, 3's 

Ms. Candice is wholeheartedly committed to being a positive role model for her students. With a focus on kindness and respect, Ms. Candice strives to set an example in both her words and actions, teaching children the importance of empathy, responsibility and good character. Most importantly, Ms. Candice always has a smile on her face!

Ms. Margie, 3's 

Ms. Margie has been teaching for 39 years! She is dedicated to creating a safe and caring environment where every child feels valued and secure. With a strong belief in the importance of emotional well-being, Ms. Margie prioritizes building trust and nurturing relationships, ensuring that each child knows they are supported and respected.

Ms. Nia, 2's & 3's 

Ms. Nia believes in the importance of kindness in both the classroom and beyond. She leads by example, demonstrating compassion, respect and empathy in every interaction, teaching children the value of being kind to others. Her four years of teaching experience spans from preschool through fourth grade.

Ms. Cheryl, 2's

Ms. Cheryl has been teaching at St. Pete Prep for 26 years! She always puts children first, prioritizing their emotional, social, and academic needs above all else. By listening to each child's individual needs and interests, Ms. Cheryl tailors her approach to foster a sense of confidence, curiosity and love for learning.

Ms. Olivia, 2's

Ms. Olivia is a creative and warm-hearted teacher with a passion for arts and crafts, believing in the power of hands-on activities to spark imagination and enhance learning. She incorporates a variety of art projects into the daily routine, allowing children to explore their creativity.

Ms. Toni, 1's

Ms. Toni has been teaching for 23 years and has a degree in Early Childhood Education! She is a true lifelong learner, always seeking new ways to grow professionally and personally. Ms. Toni's passion for learning not only enhances her own growth but also inspires her students, as she models the excitement and curiosity that comes with discovering new ideas and skills. 

Ms. Erin, 1's

Ms. Erin finds genuine joy and happiness in the daily interactions with her students. Their laughter and curiosity  brighten the classroom and inspire Ms. Erin to give her best every day. Celebrating each child's individuality, Ms. Erin believes that their moments of discovery and growth are the most rewarding part of her teaching journey.

Ms. Aileen, 1's

Ms. Aileen has been teaching for 13 years! She is a caring and kind-hearted teacher who provides our students with a safe and  nurturing environment to begin their early learning journey. Through gentle guidance, playful activities, and positive reinforcement, Ms. Aileen helps our students build essential foundational skills while fostering a sense of security and trust.

Ms. Grace, 1's

Ms. Grace is a nurturing teacher that loves introducing the joys of learning through simple yet engaging activities, including sensory play, music and basic movement exercises to our youngest learners. Her passion is creating a supportive environment where students feel safe and are inspired to learn through play and exploration.
